Finally! After all the knitting and waiting for the camera......the Flickr site is down. Arg! Anyway, there are photos for me to post of my finished baby gifts. I am working somewhat steadily on the second sleeve of Mom's sweater. I have many new and exciting projects lined up. First: The Girlfriend Shrug for Maya. I bought some gorgeous sock yarn from Knit Picks to make it with. Next, I think I'm going to try to make this. I have all that Briggs and Little so I figured I could go for it and, get this, knit something from the yarn I have in my stash! I am trying my best to be a good daughter and finish her sweater first (its been a year for cryin' out loud!) and get it to her before it starts getting brisk in Georgia.

Long time, no blog...
It has been a very long time since I last posted anything here. Life has been busy. I really don't have any words to describe these past couple of weeks with hurricane Katrina and all. I spent most of my time that first week pacing my kitchen feeling desperate, anxious and well, devastated by the suffering I was witnessing. I then realized that people all over the world suffer like this everyday. I'm just lucky enough to live in a wealthy nation in my own home, with an army ready to defend my freedoms. I'm so sick of hearing about this blame game that is going around. As far as I'm concerned, its everyone's fault.
In the midst of such chaos we decided to go ahead with our visit to my parents in Georgia. It is beautiful there. I originally planned to visit 4 yarn stores, but in reality only got to 1. The owner was an absolutely charming lady and her store was great. It had a "wool room". Need I say more? I was disappointed that there was no roving for spinning, but hey, I left with a bag full of yarn and supplies (that I will post pics of later for sure) so I'm not complaining! The store was the Yarn Garden in Lawrenceville, GA.
So now we are back home, back to work, back to school. Oh! And something new I'm working on: back to the gym! I figured out what all this diet business is about when the doc told me I weighed 130 lbs. 130!! Thats only six pounds lighter than when I was 9 months prego with Aaron!! I don't think you can really tell by looking at me unless you see me naked. Then you'd see a large spare tire around my waist. Yuk! So after the first week of watching calories and excercising 6 days, I lost 2 lbs and I felt SO much better. Of course, our week in GA kinda threw me off, but I'm back and heading off to the gym in about 45 min for a kickboxing class (that can burn up to 600+ calories/hour!!!!). I may be new to this diet scene, but I'm liking the progress I'm making already! More pics and updates to come!
