Last Minute Holiday Shopping

Okay, this really is holiday shopping: its my christmas present. I bought A LOT of yarn! Oh happy day! This is some Imagine in a dark purpley colorway I will make into a ballet wrap for my daughter.

It was only $2.99 a skein!

I thought this yarn was way cool and bought two skeins for a scarf. It is 100% wool and I guess a Jo-Ann store brand of yarn? I've never heard of this but I liked it.

This colorway is pretty, but you should have seen the one I put back. It was olive green with yellow and dark grey specks.

this is the wool I want to use to make my little boy the zippered sweater "acordian" from the knitty site.

As a knitter, I love yarn in general but there is something about wool that makes my heart beat faster. Especially when its in a large pile....in my living room.....

Some holiday knitting

Long time no blog. Its been a busy holiday season and so I have not done too much blogging. I also decided to keep the knitting to a minimum and not plan to knit anyone a gift for x-mas. Well, that went right out the window when one day I logged onto knitty and saw the cute dumpling/cat toy pattern called feline dim sum. Brilliant! My mother has two kitties that could always use some more toys and since we are going to be spending the day up there I figured I would make them a little something festive. I made these three things for Lucy, she loves to hunt so I wanted to stick to animals.

Unfortunately my several attempts to make a snake forced me to resort to a much simpler carrot. These three were all crocheted.

Here are the dumplings for Missy. She LOVES food. My mother is constantly surprised at how much this cat eats! I thought they would be perfect for her. I hope she likes them. They were a lot of fun to make!
